Because when the day comes to an end, what remains are the memories — and we’re truly grateful to help preserve them.
Hi, I'm Sam — the founder and cinematographer of Sam Yu Films.
I’ve been capturing love stories professionally since 2015, but my love for visual storytelling began much earlier.
Cinematography runs in my blood. My grandfather was a photographer, and my father continued the tradition — documenting moments through both photo and film. Growing up, cameras were always part of our home. I filmed everything on my very first phone — and often “borrowed” my dad’s camera without asking, using up rolls of film just to freeze life in motion.
In 2022, I married Diana — the love of my life and now the heart of everything we do. Her style, sensitivity, and creative eye brought new depth to our work, and since then we’ve grown stronger as both partners and storytellers.
In 2024, we moved from Ukraine to the United States to start a new chapter. We brought with us years of experience, a deep love for storytelling, and a desire to serve couples with authenticity and heart.
To us, a wedding isn’t just a beautiful day — it’s a full, emotional story. Love. Nerves. Laughter. Tears. Childhood friends. A father’s pride. The look in the groom’s eyes as she walks toward him. That’s the story we’re here to tell.
We approach each wedding like cinematographers — thinking in light, rhythm, and atmosphere. But more importantly, we feel the moment. We capture what’s real and fleeting, and transform it into something timeless.
Our films are emotional, cinematic, and honest. We gently guide when needed, but always leave space for raw, unscripted moments. Your connection leads the story.
